A motion was made by S. Hyer and seconded by P. Novotny to accept the minutes into record.

3. Treasures Report

P. Novotny stated that our balance is $709.41 and that it did not include the $1000 grant from the city for Winterfest.

A motion was made by L. Boehlen and seconded by S. Hyer to accept the treasures report into record.

4. Old Business

Winterfest Planning:

We have reserved the trolley from Lamers ($420.00), the Santa suit from Dreams Come True ($75.00) and the school for the event ($59.00 per overtime hour {2 hours}).

The green flyers were printed up ($19.14) and mailed out ($156.20) by the city.

S. Boehlen & P. Novotny went and purchased the popcorn, oil, salt, cider, hot coco, cups, and spoons ($49.84) from Badger Wholesale.

S. Boehlen also brought the Three Corners banner ($132.93). He has called all board members and got verbal approval on Sunday December 7, 2008 so that he could order it on Monday December 8, 2008.

We will be allowed in Nicolet School at 12:00 pm on Sunday December 14, 2008 to start setting up.

S. Boehlen & L. Boehlen will bring the decorations that they donated last year again. S. Hyer will bring the items that she has to set up the craft table, and her coffee pot. T. Novotny will bring her Polaroid camera and a coffee pot. L. Boehlen will rent the kids movies from Family Video and pick up the film for the camera. P. Novotny will get the projector.

T. Novotny suggested, to generate excitement for the children that Justin “Santa” should arrive about 5:30 pm to make an entrance on the trolley.

So that we are all on the same page, we assigned the following tasks for the event:

T. Novotny – photographer, S. Hyer – Mrs. Clause and oversee the craft table, L. Boehlen – make popcorn & help serving drinks, P. Novotny – narrate the trolley tours, S. Boehlen – manage the movies. We will also have the CSI’s there to help out when needed as well.

Calendars;

S. Boehlen and L. Boehlen stuffed envelopes with the calendars and the Neighborhood Awareness Flyers, and they were mailed out. Residences should be receiving them in the next few days.

Triangle Park Sled Day;

S. Boehlen updated the board that Schmitt Park is not interested in helping with the event. He will also give Tina from Parks a call to see if we can help with the concessions as a possible fund raiser.

Neighborhood’s Night Gambler Game;

The event is set for February 28, 2009, and we can sell tickets at the February 12, 2009 meeting. The price per ticket is $9.00 per person where it is normally $13.00 per person.

L. Boehlen also wanted to remind the board that we did vote to purchase 24 tickets ($216.00) so that we can donate 12 tickets to each school, Nicolet and Anne Sullivan like we did for the Bullfrogs game this past summer.

5. New Business

A. Kocha wanted to know if anyone had any questions or concerns that they would like to bring to her attention. She also wanted us all to know that there will be an ice rink at Whitney Park this year.

P. Novotny wanted to know why it is that there are ice rinks at some parks and not at others. A. Kocha stated that she thinks that money is a big reason. She also stated that one of the ideas Mayor Schmitt has is to have one downtown at the city deck.

S. Boehlen wanted to know about the dog park on the east side. A. Kocha stated that parks and planning just discussed and the way the city feels is that there should be a group that comes forward and state that they want and are going to help maintain it. She suggested to call the county park department and to find out more.

S. Boehlen also wanted to state that he thought the parade was awesome, but wondered why there were such big breaks. A. Kocha stated that they had commercial breaks.

T. Novotny brought up the incident that happened on the corner of St. George and Cedar. There was a man who held an older woman at gun point looking for prescription drugs. He had forced his way into her home.  She wanted to make sure that we all take caution when opening the doors of our home.

S. Boehlen wanted to know if there was any progress or plan for the mitten company. The Neighborhood Association would love to see it transformed into a community center. He also stated that making it into homes would not help the area with all the homes that are for sale already.

By-Laws;

Tabled till the February 9, 2009 meeting.

6. Open Forum / Announcements;

S. Hyer suggested that we think about doing an Easter Egg hunt for the kids in the Neighborhood.

C. Knepper will have an article printed in the Green Bay Press Gazette that she wrote about a woman, on December 25, 2008.

S. Boehlen stated that he and L. Boehlen will be on vacation for the January 8, 2009 meeting. The board decided that we will skip that meeting and have the next one on February 12, 2009.

Meeting Adjourned;

S. Hyer made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:41 pm and was seconded by L. Boehlen
