The City of Green Bay is calling on You to be counted!
The 2010 United States Census is close at hand and we need you to stand up and be counted. Please help spread the word about the importance of the United States Census!
-
Representation! Wisconsin lost a Congressional seat based on our & Wisconsin’s 2000 Census population. We need to maintain our current Congressional delegation to win on regional issues that affect our everyday lives.
-
Funding! More than 300 billion in federal funds are awarded to communities each year based on census numbers. If we’re under counted, we’ll be losing millions of dollars to other states. These dollars build stronger neighborhoods, educate our youth, assit elderly, and those most in need.
-
Economic Growth! Business leaders use Census data to make decisions like entering new markets in your area, or to locate a new manufacturing facility in the state.
-
Good Government! Local elected officials use the data to determine zoning and the best place to locate daycares, elderly housing, and for other quality of life decisions for the community.
-
Duty! As part of the US Constitution, it’s your duty to stand up and be counted, and help your community from losing out! The Census for the first time since 1930 will only use the short form, which only asks 10 questions, and is kept confidential for 72 years.
Build Stronger Neighborhoods by supporting & talking about the importance of filling out the 2010 U.S. Census. The federal government provides over 300 billion dollars each year to communities based on census numbers. If we’re under counted, we’ll lose federal dollars to other parts of the country to do the following programs that make our community a better place to live!
