Negotiations begin for Green Bay to host 2010 International Convention
Contract negotiations have begun between the Greater Green Bay International Sister Cities Executive Committee and the USMSCA International Board of Directors to host the 47th Annual USMSCA International Conference and Convention here in Green Bay. The planned venue is KI Convention Center in downtown Green Bay and the host hotel is Hotel Sierra. The Greater Green Bay International Sister Cities Executive Committee is also in the beginning process of designating event sub-committee chairs for the areas of fund raising, marketing and programming in preparation for this event. More information will be forthcoming as negotiations progress.
Sister Cities Kick-off luncheon held at City Hall- Thursday January 5th 2009
The official kick off luncheon was held at City Hall today to begin the initiative that will usher in a new agenda for Green Bay Sister Cities. Hosted by Pioneer Credit Union and catered by Hotel Sierra, the luncheon brought together government leaders, business leaders, and leaders from the fields of healthcare and education to introduce and discuss the status of Green Bay's relationships with Lucca, Italy and Irapuato, Mexico. Mayor Schmitt, committee member Matt Hollenbeck, and committee member Fred Monique spoke to an invited group of approx. 40 invitees about future potential for greater involvement, including Green Bay's bid to host the 47th Annual International Sister Cities Conference in 2010. The committee's new logo and promotional video were also unveiled.
Green Bay hosts delegation from Irapuato- July 20-25th 2009
A delegation of 10 to 15 people from various sectors of healthcare, government, education, and culture are visiting Green Bay the week of July 20th thru the 25th. The delegation is led by Irapuato Mayor Mario Turrent Anton. Fifteen government officials and community leaders visited various cultural, educational, medical, and civic points of interest within the greater Green Bay area.
