Objectives of the Commission
- Identify, protect, preserve, and enhance historic and prehistoric buildings, properties, and sites in the City.
- Safeguard the City’s historic, prehistoric, and cultural heritage as embodied in those properties and sites.
- Foster civic pride in the history and prehistory of Green Bay.
- Improve and enhance the visual, esthetic, and architectural character of the City.
- Educate itself, government officials and agencies, the business community, and the general public about the City’s historic and prehistoric properties and resources and the need, desirability, and benefits of historic preservation.
- Disseminate information and advise property owners, government officials and agencies, and other interested parties about historic preservation programs, strategies, and techniques.
- Stabilize and improve the value of older properties in the City.
- Support and stimulate business and industry in the City as it relates to historic preservation.
- Advocate and enhance heritage tourism in the City.
