02-20-10 Greenleaf Barn Fire

On Saturday, February 20 at 10:47, Brown County Public Safety Communication dispatched the Greenleaf Fire Department to a fully engulfed barn fire in the Town of Wrightstown with animals still inside.  Within minutes, Greenleaf Firefighters activated MABAS Division 112 (Brown County) by striking card number 9-32 to the box alarm level.  This request summons assistance from the Wrightstown, Hollandtown, Morrison and Wayside Fire Departments.  It also alerted County Rescue Service, the Wrightstown Area First Responders, WPSC for utility control and the manager of the Water Department.  Shortly after arrival, a second alarm was sounded which brought 2 additional tenders.  In all, 5 engines, 11 tenders, 3 support units, 3 Chief’s and 3 man power assists responded.   Greenleaf Firefighter’s were on scene for almost 14 hours.  There were no injuries or loss of livestock.
