Change in Long Grass and Noxious Weed Enforcement
Effective July 6, 2010, there will be a change in the City of Green Bay’s enforcement policy regarding noxious weeds and unsightly growth. The ordinance will require all property owners to maintain grass at a height of less than nine inches and to eliminate noxious weeds on their property.
The new enforcement policy requires property owners to cut grass and weeds within 24 hours after a warning tag is left on their door. If it is not cut within 24 hours, the city will cut the grass and invoice the property owner. Undeveloped/vacant properties will not be tagged. They will be cut and billed without notice.
To report a long grass or noxious weeds problem, please call 448-3535.

If you are pregnant, please call at least one month before your due date. It may be take two to four weeks to schedule an appointment so please plan accordingly.
Single-stream Recycling
Have you noticed the blue 65-gallon roll-away recycling carts peppering our neighborhood? The city began single stream automated recycling in June 2009. There are many advantages to using the rolling carts. It is effortless to roll the cart to and from the curb on recycling days, they have covers so items do not blow around and look neat and tidy since they are all enclosed. If you are interested in purchasing a roll-away cart, contact the Department of Public Works at 448-3100 or check out the city’s website at
www.ci.green-bay.wi.us/publicworks/operations/SingleStreamRecycling.htm.
