The City Assessor's office is responsible for the valuation of all real and personal property located within the City of Green Bay for tax purposes. It is our responsibility to ensure fair and equitable assessments throughout the City. |
Bay Beach Amusement Park serves more than one million guests each season. Some come for company picnics, some for family reunions, and some simply to have a good time. We provide that good time and strive to cater to our guests. |
Building Inspection is a code enforcement, project review, and approval agency for a variety of municipal and State ordinances and codes. We also are the agent of the State of Wisconsin for inspection and plan review services for construction within the City of Green Bay. We regulate land use through the enforcement of zoning regulations, issue building permits, enforce property maintenance and housing standards, and protect consumers through the weights and measures program. |
The Office of the Clerk/Treasurer has the fiduciary responsibility to collect, record, and deposit all government receipts and to manage cash and investments in accordance with the City of Green Bay Investment Policy. The office also has the administrative responsibility for elections, licensing, managing the records of the Common Council and for the dissemination of general information to the customers of the City of Green Bay. |
The Community Development Division is responsible for administering and monitoring the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Partnerships Grant (HOME) funds the city receives from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These grants are utilized to help Green Bay create affordable housing, improve the quality of life in low and moderate-income areas, provide funding to human services and create economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons. In the past, funds have been used to repair sidewalks and alleys, create new jobs, rehabilitate blighted housing and revitalize downtown neighborhoods. |

The Finance Division for the City of Green Bay provides for the financial control of the City. Included in the department are the payroll, accounts payable, budget coordination and financial reporting functions. The Finance Department is under the direction of the Assistant Finance Director. The Finance Director has general supervisory responsibility for the Finance, Clerk/Treasurer, Purchasing, Assessor, and Information Technology Divisions. |

The Planning Information Technology Division supports and manages the City of Green Bay Planning Department development of its Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Drawing (CAD), and graphical illustrations. The division prepares custom graphical material and statistical information for department(s) reports and presentations, provides mapping information for the City's web site, maintains and updates a variety of base maps, develops non-technical userfriendly software programs to assist Planning staff in accessing spatial information, provides customer service for over the counter data and map requests, and assists other departments and governmental units with GIS and mapping requests. |
The Housing Authority of the City of Green Bay is responsible for planning, developing, and administering housing to meet the needs of low and moderate income households throughout the City of Green Bay. |
Human Resources Mission Statement is to provide innovative City human resources and labor relations services; identifying, improving and promoting quality customer service by administering effective and consistent programs, policies, processes and practices. |
The Law Department represents the City of Green Bay in legal actions before courts, agencies, and judicial bodies. The department prosecutes ordinance violations in Green Bay Municipal Court, and provides a full range of legal services to various City departments, boards, and entities. |

The Mayor’s Office provides overall management for City government. With a Mayor-Council form of government, the Mayor of Green Bay is the chief administrative officer for the municipal corporation. |
Green Bay Municipal Court handles all citations issued by the Green Bay Police Department, Fire Department, Inspection Department, and Department of Public Works for traffic and non-traffic ordinance violations. The primary function of the Green Bay Municipal Court is to administer justice and hold individuals accountable for their actions when found guilty of these ordinance violations. The Court imposes fines and costs, collects those fines and costs, as well as imposes and collects restitution and other miscellaneous fees. The Court aggressively pursues those who fail to pay their fines. |

The Operations Division consists of five sections: Street, Sanitation, Sewers and Bridges, Motor Equipment and Operations Administration. The Division maintains all streets and alleys, flood control dikes, storm and sanitary sewer systems, bridges, collects and transports solid waste and recycling, and maintains and repairs all vehicles and equipment of the Department of Public Works. |
The Neighborhood division is responsible for neighborhood revitalization efforts including neighborhood association assistance, property acquisition, housing rehabilitation, infrastructure improvement, and park improvements. |
The Parks Department endeavors to enrich the quality of life of all people by creatively providing and enhancing leisure opportunities. |
The Planning Department is responsible for planning related functions including land use analysis, re-zoning, plat and site plan reviews, area development plan design and comprehensive plan review, update and implementation. |

The Department of Public Works' mission is to provide efficient municipal public works services and to maintain and construct public works facilities in a cost-effective manner for the citizens of Green Bay. |
The City’s centralized Purchasing office effectively serves City departments, committees, and other agencies in procuring the goods required to support a wide variety of services provided to Green Bay residents. The division is also responsible for accounts payable and sale of surplus goods and real estate. |
Under the direction of the Assistant Director, City Human Resources, the City of Green Bay Risk Management Office provides a variety of safety, claims and insurance related services. |
The Traffic division installs and maintains all traffic signal, traffic-related signs and pavement markings within the corporate limits of Green Bay. |

The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful 700-acre urban wildlife refuge. We are one of the largest Wildlife Rehabilitation Sites in Wisconsin. We are also Green Bay's largest city park. |
