Filing a Citizen Report
In order to provide better customer service and timely enforce compliance with Building, Zoning, Housing and Property Maintenance Codes, the Inspection Unit will accept phone-in reports immediately during regular business hours between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday-Friday at 920.448.3300 or you may file online.
Exterior Problems
The Inspection Unit will accept exterior reports on properties within the City of Green Bay. To file a report, you must have the address of the property where the violation exists. Information on the violation must be specific, such as peeling paint, broken windows, garbage and junk, or inoperable car. The Inspection Unit will not respond to complaints with general accusation, such as "the place is a dump" or "just go see it and you'll see."
Interior Problems
The Inspection Unit will accept interior reports on properties in the City of Green Bay. If you are a tenant who resides at the address, please notify your landlord of your complaint and allow him time to respond before you notify the Inspection Unit. If you are not getting the results needed, you can contact the Inspection Unit and provide the address of the property where the violation exists. You must also include your name, email address and/or telephone number so an appointment can be made to see the interior of the building. Information on the violations must be specific, such as hole in bathroom floor, ceiling falling down, peeling pain, cockroach infestation, leaking plumbing, electrical outlet doesn't work or inadequate heat. If you don't live in the unit, you must still provide the same information. The Inspection Unit will not respond to complaints with general accusations, such as "the place should be condemned" or "nobody can live there." If you cannot leave the above information or you want to discuss making a complaint, ask to speak directly to the appropriate inspector in your area.
