Housing Code Purpose

The housing code regulations are adopted to provide a minimum standard for the design, maintenance, and use of residential buildings and related structures. It is the owner's responsiblility to maintain the property in compliance with these standards that protect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of Green Bay. The occupants also share the responsibility to comply with certain requirements of the housing code.

It is the responsibility of the Inspection Division to issue written notices of housing code violations to building owners of existing structures. The notices establish a deadline for the repairs or corrections. Failure to comply will result in reinspection fees charged for continuing violations and may also result in a municipal citation of over $500.00.
