Welcome to Building Inspection! We are a code enforcement, project review, and approval agency for a variety of municipal and State ordinances and codes. We also are the agent of the State of Wisconsin for inspection and plan review services for construction within the City of Green Bay. We regulate land use through the enforcement of zoning regulations, issue building permits, enforce property maintenance and housing standards, and protect consumers through the weights and measures program.
Buildings division inspects both residential and commercial buildings. Four inspectors are divided between the east and west sides for maximum efficiency
Heating/Plumbing division inspects residential and commercial buildings. There are two inspectors on duty.
Housing/Zoning division is responsible for questions in regard to the city ordinances relating to land use, setback requirements, sign permitting, parking requirements on private property and floodplain determinations.
Electrical division inspects both residential and commercial buildings. The City employs two electrical inspectors.
Weights & Measures division supervises all sales of commodities within the City, regulating sales or purchases done by weight or measure.
