1996
On Broadway, a Main Street Program was organized. Broadway was a long time eyesore and home to a seedy area of taverns in Green Bay. Twenty or so years of plans finally were put into place. New roadway and streetscapes were developed and On Broadway began its implementation process.

1997
Super Bowl XXXI was achieved by the Green Bay Packers in 1997. The city celebrated the following day with a parade downtown followed by a ceremony at Lambeau Field. Thousands of fans attended both events. The temperature was in the teens.

1997
1997 also brought a revitalization plan for Green Bay’s downtown. The mall was failing due to urban shopping and plans were underway for a new way for downtown to survive. A plan was developed by Gould Evans Goodman Associates of Kansas City, Missouri and approved by the City Council in May of 1997. The plan was designed as a guide for future development of the downtown.
