Community Service Intern

CSI's provide various neighborhood based public services to city residents in cooperation with the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department, Planning Department (Neighborhood and Inspection Divisions) and Police Department.

Duties include directing residents to proper resources, educating individuals and groups on various issues/ordinances, providing community outreach support to residents, routinely walking through downtown neighborhoods and City parks to identify and address potential problems, reporting issues or incidents to appropriate City personnel, assisting with animal welfare and pet licensing issues, collaborating with neighborhood resources including associations & resources to achieve a connection between the City of Green Bay and the community; and researching, analyzing, and compiling data and preparing various reports.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  3. Ability to speak a foreign language such as Hmong or Spanish desired.
  4. Currently enrolled in college or technical college with a minimum of (9) credits and pursuing a degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Urban Studies, Criminal Justice, Police Science, or related field.
  5. Must have acceptable personal and professional history as determined by successfully completing a background investigation.

Work schedule: Variable, 15 to 20 hours per week primarily evenings and weekends.

Salary:  $10.00/hour
