When you begin the planning process for your 1st Annual Kids’ Day, the Mayor and the Parks and Recreation Department should start out by gathering pertinent staff to form a committee. The committee should start brainstorming ideas based on the community’s resources to form an ideal wish list for your city’s perfect Kids’ Day.  The following is a list of ideas you may want to consider:

  • Type of facilities and city amenities you would like to showcase
  • Local vendors you will be able to utilize
  • What types of donations you will be able to receive
Green Bay Kids’ Day is based solely on donations received by local businesses. Services and activities must be completely FREE of charge to all youth with wristbands. People over the age of 17 may be subject to admission fees and other costs.

Below you will find a list of events Green Bay has for our Mayor’s own Kids’ Day. All of these services and activities have been donated by our Kids’ Day supporters.

Highlighting Mayor’s Luncheon
The luncheon is the pep rally for the day! To emphasize the magnitude of the event the Mayor will make a grand entrance. In the past he has arrived by helicopter, boat, race car, police entourage, horse drawn carriage…as you can see the possibilities are endless.  The luncheon is a time where kids and families come together to show how much we appreciate them.  The children will be able to eat lunch, play and explore a wide variety of fun activities.  They will also be able to learn how their government makes the community a better place to live. The luncheon site is a popular gathering place in your community. In the past, the City of Green Bay has chosen Neighborhood Parks, Festival Grounds & Lambeau Field.

Below is what our community has traditionally offered:

  • A Healthy Lunch is provided for 4000 children by the Green Bay School District Program sponsored through a USDA grant.
  • To emphasize how special children are on Kids’ Day, kids eat for free and their guardians pay $1.50.
  • Mayor introduces City Department Heads and explains how City government works together to make our city a better place to live.
  • City Department Staff & Vehicles are on display for children to tour. (Fire, EMT, Police, DPW, Transit)
  • Introduces players and staff of Green Bay Packers.
  • Green Bay Packers stay on site to sign autographs & take pictures.
  • Inflatable games donated by local vendor.
  • Arts & Crafts and face painting.
  • Healthy snacks & drinks are donated and served by various vendors.

Marketing
The Kids’ Day Flyer is your guide to everything you need to know about your Community’s Kids’ Day including:
