1. Roll Call.
Vice Chairman Tony Theisen
called the meeting to order, and all were present except for Ald. VanderLeest, who arrived a few minutes later.
2. Approval of the Agenda.
A
motion was made by Ald. Weber, seconded by Ald. Deneys
and carried to approve the agenda.
3. Approval of the minutes of the Finance
Committee meeting of March 3, 2009.
A motion was made by Ald. Weber, seconded by Ald. Deneys and carried to approve the minutes of the Finance
Committee meeting of March 3, 2009.
4. Request of the Fire Chief for approval of the
Paramedic Intercept agreement with Kewaunee Ambulance Service and any other
municipality agreeable to these terms.
Chief Roemer explained that if a patient
being transported to a hospital by an outlying agency is in need of paramedic
services, Brown County Dispatch is called.
County Rescue contacts the City if they are unable to respond, and the
City goes out with paramedics to meet the ambulance and provide advance life
support. He said there is presently no
charge to the other community, and that we are asked to provide this service
once or twice a month. Chief Roemer said
the Department would like to have some kind of agreement in place and that the
proposed Paramedic Intercept Agreement includes a fee of $200 to cover basic
costs.
A motion was made by Ald. Weber, seconded by
Ald. Deneys, and carried to approve the Paramedic
Intercept agreement with Kewaunee Ambulance Service and any other municipality
agreeable to these terms.
5. Report of the Purchasing Agent:
a. Request to award the Bay Beach Souvenir
T-shirts and sweatshirts for the amount of $15,770.16, split between the two
low vendors: Promotional Design for the
amount of $5,470.50 and Will Enterprise for the amount of $10,299.66.
Purchasing Agent Julie Van Oss said these are
the T-shirts and sweatshirts that are ordered annually to sell at Bay Beach as souvenirs.
They will generate an estimated $42,000 to $45,000 in revenue this
year.
A motion was made by Ald. Weber, seconded by
Ald. Deneys and carried to approve the award of Bay
Beach Souvenir T-shirts and sweatshirts for the amount of $15,770.16, split
between the two low vendors: Promotional
Design for the amount of $5,470.50 and Will Enterprise for the amount of $10,299.66.
b. Update on the competitive purchase of fuel.
A
motion was made by Ald. Deneys to convene in closed session pursuant to Sections 19.85(1)(e), Wis. Stats., for purposes of deliberating or
negotiating the sale of public properties, investing of public funds or
conducting other specified public business as necessary for competitive or
bargaining reasons. The Committee may thereafter reconvene in open
session pursuant to Section 19.85(2), Wis. Stats., to report the results of the
closed session and consider the balance of the agenda. The motion was seconded by Ald. Theisen and carried.

Session followed.
A
motion was made by Ald. Deneys to receive and place
on file the update on the competitive purchase of fuel. It was seconded by Ald. Weber, and carried.
A
motion was made by Ald. Weber, seconded by Ald. Theisen
and carried to adjourn the meeting.
Meeting adjourned at approximately 6:30 p.m.
