GENERAL BUSINESS

 

1.         Approval of the minutes from the May 3, 2010 Traffic Commission meeting.

 

2.         Review of the 2010 first quarter report of serious injury and fatal traffic crashes.  (All Alderpersons) 

 

INITIAL REQUESTS

 

3.         Request by Ald. DeWane to allow overnight parking between the months of March and September.  (Ald. DeWane – District 2)

 

4.         Request by Ald. Nicholson for SPEED LIMIT 25 signs on Laura Street north of East Mason Street and south of Main Street.  (Ald. Nicholson – District 3)

 

5.         Request by Ald. Theisen for STATE LAW YIELD TO PEDESTRIANS WITHIN CROSSWALK signs at four intersections: 

            (1) East Mason Street and Hartung Street

            (2) Webster Avenue and Grignon Street

            (3) Webster Avenue and Emilie Street

            (4) Webster Avenue and Eliza Street

            (Ald. Theisen – District 4)

 

6.         Request by Ald. Kocha to add further restricted parking on Mech Street. (Ald. Kocha – District 5)

 

7.         Request by Ald. Kocha to add NO TRUCKS signs at the intersections of:

            (1) Mills and Berger Streets, to prevent eastbound truck traffic on Mills Street, and

            (2) Morrow Street and Highland Park Avenue, to prevent southbound truck traffic on Highland Park Avenue. (Ald. Kocha – District 5)

 

8.         Request by Ald. Sortwell, on behalf of Dallas Gunderson (1831 Smith Street), to convert the southbound curb lane on Webster Avenue approaching East Mason Street into a right-turn only lane.  (Ald. Sortwell – District 6)

 

9.         Request by Ald. Wery on behalf of Steve & Phyllis Francies (109 Woodlawn Avenue) to establish a NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER zone on the east side of Woodlawn Avenue at its intersection with Dousman Street.  (Ald. Wery – District 8)

 

10.       Request by Ald. Zima, on behalf of area residents, that the parking restrictions be removed on Thirteenth Avenue between West Mason Street and Third Street.  (Ald. Zima – District 9)

 

POSTPONED FROM PREVIOUS MEETING

 

11.       Request by Ald. Kocha to address the complaint of frequent failures to stop on Oakdale Avenue at Huth Street South.  (Ald. Kocha – District 5)

 

12.       Request by Ald. Weber for a traffic study to determine what measures can be implemented to calm traffic on West Point Road and what can be done to help with compliance of the STOP sign on LaCount Road at West Point Road. (Motion to evaluate the West Point Road and LaCount Road intersection for adequate STOP sign condition and placement and adjust as needed; and to conduct a speed study along West Point Road near LaCount Road.)  (Ald. 13.       Referral from the Improvement & Service Committee of the request by former Ald. Piton for a sidewalk study on Farlin Avenue from Danz Avenue to Turek Street.  (Ald. Sortwell – District 6)

14.       Request by Ald. Theisen to consider establishing parking restrictions on the 700 block of South Madison Street.  (Original motion to receive and place on file since it is anticipated that Ald. Theisen will place a new request for 4-HOUR parking to encompass a larger area.)  (Ald. Theisen – District 4)

15.       Request by Ald. Wery for a study of the intersection of Dousman Street and Platten Street for a 4-WAY STOP condition.  (Referred to DPW for study)  (Ald. Wery – District 8)

 

TERMINATION OF TRIAL PERIODS

 

16.       That, on a 90-day trial, to remove the 2-HOUR PARKING zone on both sides of Admiral Court from Fisk Street to the eastern terminus of Admiral Court from March 1, 2010 to September 1, 2010.

 

17.       That, on a 90-day trial, to establish a 2-HOUR PARKING zone on both sides of Admiral Court from Fisk Street to the eastern terminus of Admiral Court after September 1, 2010.

 

18.       That, on a 90-day trial, to establish a NO STOPPING OR STANDING zone on the south side of West Point Road from a point 160 feet west of South Point Road to South Point Road.

 

19.       That, on a 90-day trial, to establish a NO STOPPING OR STANDING zone on the west side of South Point Road from a point 35 feet south of West Point Road to West Point Road.
